STREET (AS) ART, workshops with high schoolers, mentored by Petra Mrša, try to change the usual perception of the street. If we say that a street is part of a museum, how do we change our perception about the things we encounter there? How do we perceive a window, door, wall, sidewalk?
High schoolers are invited to imagine the streets around the Museum as its constituent part. Through walks, talks and retelling of experiences, they register the favourite “art exhibits”, just like objects that least fit in the “museum display”. Exploration of found objects and locations serves as a basis for the story imbues with elements of fiction, creating an alternative setting of space, a street museum which belongs to everybody.

Petra Mrša was born 1985 in Rijeka. In 2010 she graduated in sociology from the Zagreb Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, and psychology from the Centre for Croatian Studies. In 2008 she enrolled in the course of cinematography at the Academy of Dramatic Arts, where she is currently a graduate student of photography. Also, she was an artist-in-residence at Otočka karta 2 on the island of Zlarin. The Italian publisher Pazzini Editore printed her first book of photography Nova škola. Parts of her work were presented on the pages of contemporary Croatian photography and some are kept in the collection of the Museum of Arts and Crafts and City of Zagreb Museum.
